Sunways’s 2023 annual report is based around a short side-scrolling webpage with photographs processed to show limited animations.
The short length of the site works very much in favour of readers engaging with the report, as it ensures multiple points of entry and easy navigation.
Simple red arrows guide the reader to points of expansion. When clicked, these open up PDFs in a new window or a new page in the same window, in which case each new page has simple navigation back to the main report. This helps the report feel thorough without feeling cluttered.
The use of limited animations is restricted to a few key visuals, ensuring the animations don’t distract. Although when applied to headers and numbers there is a sense that maybe too much animation is in play. However, this is balanced by easy-to-read type treatments and short text blocks, allowing for a fast reading experience.
